The Intuitive Body is an experiential practice that teaches how to listen to your “gut feeling” or “sixth sense” -- a normal part of human experience, but far too often ignored. Intuition is an unconscious-to-conscious process that is felt most clearly through the non-verbal language of bodily-felt sensations and spontaneous movement.

Cultivating Embodiment
In the first part of The Intuitive Body, we will acknowledge the ways in which we “live in our heads” and explore new ways of living more fully in our bodies. Using the concepts of mindfulness, meditation and movement, this class will provide you with the tools you need to live more presently so that you can recognize when your body is telling you something you really need to know. Clients who have studied this section have claimed to experience decreased forgetfulness (such as forgetting one’s keys or not remembering if she turned off the lights in her apartment) and kicking emotional addictions such as food, television and internet browsing.

Intuitive Decision-Making
The second part of The Intuitive Body explores more deeply the knowledge of the body’s viscera through the four neural plexus of the body: the head, heart, gut and pelvis. These four areas of perceptive innervation are in the nervous system and differ from the chakra system that focuses on endocrine functioning. We will explore the ways in which each of the four plexus contribute to our decision-making by integrating right and left brain activity. This class will turn your “I knew it!” into “I know it!”

Body Attunement for Enhancing Relationships
After you have learned how it feels to live in the embodied present moment, and then cultivate where your somatic perceptions are in decision-making, you are now ready to use your skills to attune with others! Have you ever met someone for the first time who instantly gave you that “warm fuzzy feeling”? That’s a balanced individual! Chances are they are embodied and attuning to you intuitively. In this final section of The Intuitive Body, you will learn how to “read” subtle cues of others’ non-verbal emotional states with compassion and integrity. This is an invaluable skill for body workers, therapists, parents, teachers, business owners, and anyone else who is interested in “tuning in” with others for healthier communication.
