Jennifer Frank Tantia, MS, ADTR, LCAT is a psychotherapist in private practice and licensed in New York State. A former professional dancer and aerial artist, Jennifer has researched and practiced the meaning of movement in many forms such as dance and choreography, exercise physiology, yoga and assisting women in childbirth. Noting the obvious connection between body and mind in these fields, Jennifer furthered her education in mental health and attained a Master’s degree in Dance/Movement Therapy.

As a nationally registered dance/movement Therapist and body psychotherapist, Jennifer has worked with patients in many settings such as: psychiatric units, geriatric residencies, day treatment programs and corporate environments. Her experience spans populations such as eating disorders, HIV/AIDS and mild to severe mental illness, including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Jennifer’s eclectic background of psychology, physiology, creativity and neuroscience provides a fully embodied approach to psychotherapy. Jennifer works with a wide range of clients including those with symptoms from emotional or physical trauma including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues, to those who just want to gain greater insight into understanding their physical, mental or spiritual life a little better.

Jennifer teaches at conferences and offers classes throughout the country to both individuals and corporate groups, and meets with clients in her Manhattan and Brooklyn offices, while pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Santa Barbara Graduate Institute (www.sbgi.edu).

Jennifer is a member of the American Dance Therapy Association (www.adta.org) and the United States Association for Body Psychotherapy (www.usabp.org).
